Jailing of external carotid is the usual practice in carotid stenting. Jaw claudication is seldom seen with jailing of external carotids as there are good collaterals.
Hyperperfusion syndrome of the brain can cause intracranial bleed after carotid stenting. Bradycardia is an immediate problem after carotid stenting due to pressure on the carotid sinus.
