MACE vs NACE in coronary interventions

MACE = major adverse cardiovascular event(s)

Components of MACE are death, reinfarction, ischemia-driven target vessel revascularization, and stroke.

NACE = net adverse clinical event(s); NACE = (MACE + major bleeding unrelated to coronary artery bypass grafting)

The term NACE was introduced in the HORIZONS Trial [Stone GW et al. Bivalirudin during primary PCI in acute myocardial infarction. N Engl J Med. 2008;358:2218–2230]
