Amplatz right coronary catheter

Amplatz right coronary catheter has been engaged in the right coronary artery (RCA). Note the dual curve at the tip. Amplatz right coronary catheter is used to cannulate RCA when it has an abnormal origin which is difficult to cannulate with the Judkins right (JR) catheter.

Right coronary angiogram in LAO cranial view using Amplatz RCA catheter

Right coronary angiogram in LAO cranial view using Amplatz RCA catheter. This RCA was difficult to cannulate with JR catheter even after repeated attempts. The angiogram shows only minimal luminal irregularities of the RCA. Right ventricular branches are seen originating from the proximal region and terminal branching of RCA into posterior left ventricular (PLV or PLB) branches and posterior descending coronary artery (PDA).
