Left anterior hemiblock (LAHB) is manifest as left axis deviation without any other associated conditions which can shift the axis to the left like inferior wall infarction. rS complexes are seen in II, III, aVF and qR pattern in I and aVL. Isolated LAHB does not alter the prognosis. LAHB can be associated with right bundle branch block and the combination is often called bifascicular block. Left anterior hemiblock can be associated with anterior wall myocardial infarction, congenital complete heart block and tricuspid atresia.
