Guide wire torquer is used to maneuver the guidewire tip so as to enter the required vessel during angioplasty. It is also useful in navigating the guide wire across the lesion and into side branches. It is also useful while attempting to cross the struts of a stent which has been placed across the opening of a branch in order to balloon dilate the struts to improve the side branch flow. Guide wire torquer is passed over the guide wire and the torquer is tightened to get a good grip on the guide wire.
